Support, Donations & Transparency
Last updated: 10 July 2026
1. About this page
This page explains:
how voluntary support payments work;
what supporter money may be used for;
how recurring payments, cancellations and refunds are handled;
how we disclose affiliate links, sponsorships, advertising and free products;
our approach to charitable giving, environmental claims and ethical business.
Chapman Unfiltered is a trading name, brand and trademark of Chapman Media House Limited.
In this policy, “Chapman Unfiltered”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Chapman Media House Limited.
Where content uses “I”, “me” or “my”, this refers to Devon Chapman speaking through the Chapman Unfiltered brand, unless the context clearly states otherwise.
2. Feed the Machine
The Chapman Unfiltered support page may use the button Feed the Machine.
This is a light-hearted name for making a voluntary payment to help feed the Chapman Unfiltered content machine and keep the content coming.
Support payments are made voluntarily to Chapman Media House Limited.
Although we may describe them as donations, they are payments to a commercial limited company. Chapman Unfiltered and Chapman Media House Limited are not charities.
3. What you receive
3.1 No product or service
A support payment does not purchase a product, service, course, membership or other item.
You do not receive:
special access;
ownership or investment rights;
a share of revenue or profits;
guaranteed recognition or publicity;
control over our content or business decisions;
any other reward unless we clearly state otherwise before payment.
3.2 No guaranteed content
Supporting Chapman Unfiltered helps us continue creating and publishing content, but it does not guarantee:
a particular video, article, course or resource;
a particular amount or frequency of content;
that we will cover a requested subject;
a personal reply, mention or acknowledgement;
that Chapman Unfiltered will continue indefinitely.
4. Payment options
Support payments are processed through Squarespace and Squarespace Payments.
The support page may offer:
suggested payment amounts;
a custom amount chosen by you;
one-off payments;
recurring payments at the frequencies shown.
Suggested amounts, their descriptions, available payment frequencies and any optional processing-cost contribution may change from time to time.
The amount, frequency and total shown when you confirm the payment are the terms that apply to that payment.
5. Optional processing-cost contribution
You may be offered the choice to add an optional contribution towards payment-processing costs.
This contribution is optional and must be selected by you.
The percentage or amount shown may change from time to time.
If selected, it forms part of your total voluntary payment. It does not purchase an additional product or service and does not give you any additional rights or benefits.
6. How supporter money may be used
Support payments are not ring-fenced for a particular video, article, expense or project unless we clearly state otherwise before payment.
Chapman Media House Limited decides how the money is used.
It may be used towards any reasonable cost connected with operating, developing or producing Chapman Unfiltered, including:
researching and creating content;
filming, recording, editing and publishing;
travel connected with content or business activity;
website, hosting and email costs;
software, subscriptions and online services;
cameras, computers, microphones and other equipment;
design, production and professional services;
administration and general business costs;
developing future content, resources, products or projects.
The examples above are not a promise that any particular payment will be spent in a particular way.
7. Recurring payments
When you choose recurring support, you authorise the payment provider to collect the chosen amount at the frequency shown when you confirm the payment, until the recurring payment is cancelled or otherwise ends.
You are responsible for checking:
the amount;
the payment frequency;
any optional processing-cost contribution;
the payment details entered.
You may cancel future recurring payments through the options provided by Squarespace or by contacting us.
Cancellation stops future scheduled payments. It does not automatically refund payments that have already been processed.
Please cancel before the next scheduled payment. We cannot guarantee that a payment can be stopped after processing has begun.
8. Refunds
Because support payments are voluntary and no product or service is supplied in return, completed payments are normally non-refundable.
We may provide a refund where:
the same payment was taken more than once by mistake;
an incorrect amount was taken because of a processing error;
the payment was genuinely unauthorised;
we agree that exceptional circumstances justify a refund;
the law requires us to provide one.
Cancelling a recurring payment does not automatically refund earlier payments.
Refunds can only be made through the payment methods and systems available to us. Where approved, a refund will normally be returned to the original payment method.
For payment, cancellation or refund enquiries, contact:
accounts@chapmanunfiltered.com
Please include enough information for us to identify the payment, but do not send complete card details by email.
Nothing in this section removes any legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Payment problems and unauthorised payments
If you believe a payment was made without your permission, contact your bank or card provider promptly and email:
accounts@chapmanunfiltered.com
Payments may be refused, delayed, reversed or cancelled by Squarespace Payments, a bank, a card provider or another payment service for reasons outside our control.
We are not responsible for charges imposed separately by your bank, card provider or currency-conversion provider.
10. Charity, Gift Aid and causes
10.1 We are not a charity
Chapman Unfiltered and Chapman Media House Limited are not charities or community amateur sports clubs.
Support payments:
are not charitable donations for Gift Aid purposes;
do not qualify for Gift Aid;
are not automatically tax-deductible for the supporter;
are not passed to a charity.
10.2 No part automatically goes to charity
No fixed amount or percentage of Feed the Machine support payments is currently donated to:
charity;
tree planting;
environmental projects;
community organisations;
any other cause.
These payments are intended to support Chapman Unfiltered and Chapman Media House Limited.
10.3 Separate charitable or environmental giving
Chapman Media House Limited may separately choose to support charities, environmental projects or other causes using income generated through its products, services or other business activity.
Where we make a specific public claim about charitable giving, tree planting or another cause, we will aim to explain clearly:
what is being given or funded;
how the amount is calculated;
which organisation or project receives it;
any important limits or conditions.
A general statement of support for a cause does not mean that supporter payments are automatically being donated to that cause.
11. Affiliate links
We may use affiliate links now or in the future.
An affiliate link is a tracked link that may allow Chapman Media House Limited to receive a commission if you click it and complete a qualifying action, such as making a purchase.
Where affiliate content is not already obvious, we will identify it clearly and close enough to the relevant content for people to understand the commercial relationship.
Affiliate commission will usually be paid by the seller rather than added as a separate charge to you. The seller controls its own prices, availability, terms, refunds and services.
You remain responsible for deciding whether any third-party product or service is suitable for you.
12. Sponsorships, paid promotions and advertising
We may accept:
sponsorships;
paid promotions;
advertising;
commercial partnerships;
payment to create or feature content.
Where content is advertising or has been paid for, we will make that clear where appropriate.
We will not deliberately present paid advertising as completely independent editorial content.
A commercial relationship may affect the subject, format, timing or placement of content, but payment does not automatically guarantee:
a positive opinion;
a recommendation;
dishonest praise;
the removal of genuine criticism;
permanent availability of the content.
Specific commercial agreements may include reasonable requirements such as factual accuracy, deadlines or agreed deliverables.
For sponsorship, advertising, affiliate or partnership enquiries, contact:
partnerships@chapmanunfiltered.com
13. Free products, services and review copies
We may receive free or discounted:
products;
services;
software;
subscriptions;
event access;
travel or accommodation;
review copies;
other benefits.
Where this connection could reasonably affect how people understand the content, we will disclose it.
Receiving something free does not automatically guarantee positive coverage, a recommendation or any coverage at all unless a specific agreement says otherwise.
14. Opinions and recommendations
Opinions expressed through Chapman Unfiltered are our honest opinions at the time they are published, subject to any commercial relationship being disclosed where appropriate.
Recommendations are not guarantees.
Products, services, businesses and circumstances can change after content is published. You should carry out your own checks before spending money, entering an agreement or relying on a recommendation.
15. Ethical business and modern slavery
Chapman Media House Limited is not currently required to publish an annual statutory modern-slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
However, we oppose:
slavery;
forced or compulsory labour;
human trafficking;
child labour;
abusive or exploitative working conditions.
We aim to work with reputable suppliers and service providers.
Because we are a small business, our checks will be proportionate to:
the type of supplier;
where it operates;
what it provides;
the level of risk reasonably involved.
We cannot personally inspect every part of every supplier’s operations or international supply chain. If we become aware of credible evidence of serious exploitation connected with a supplier, we will consider appropriate action, which may include raising the issue, seeking further information or ending the relationship.
If our legal reporting duties change, we will meet the requirements that apply at that time.
16. Transparency and corrections
We aim to describe commercial relationships, supporter payments and public giving claims accurately and clearly.
If we discover that an important disclosure or public claim is incorrect or misleading, we will make reasonable efforts to correct or clarify it.
A mistake does not automatically mean that the original content was deliberately dishonest.
Concerns about a disclosure or transparency claim can be sent to:
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when:
the support options change in a way that affects these terms;
new payment features are introduced;
we begin using new types of commercial relationship;
our charitable or environmental giving changes;
the law or official guidance changes;
we need to correct or clarify the wording.
Changes to suggested payment amounts, descriptions, available frequencies or optional processing-cost contributions do not necessarily require this policy to be updated where the correct information is clearly shown before payment.
The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
